Mail lists

Information about subscribing, unsubscribing, and changing your list options.

The Dramatica List is an email-based mail list (also called a "list server"). When someone posts a message to the list, the list server takes care of sending the message to everyone on the list.

To post and receive messages, you must be a list member.

How to join the list

  1. Send an email to dramatica-join@bitranch.com — the contents and subject of your message don't matter.
  2. You'll receive a confirmation message. Reply to that message. (Be sure to reply to the confirmation ID and not the owner ID!)
  3. When you receive the Welcome message, you're on the list. (Please read that message. It contains information about the list that you should know.)
  4. Post to the list by sending messages to dramatica@bitranch.com

Switching to digest mode

Once you have subscribed to the Dramatica List, you will receive messages in "immediate" mode. (In other words, messages will arrive as they are posted to the list.)

You can choose to switch to digest mode. In digest mode, you will receive one message a day containing all of the messages posted in the past 24 hours. To switch from immediate mode to digest mode, send an email to: dramatica-set-digestonly@bitranch.com (as usual, the contents and subject of the message doesn't matter).

You can also choose to receive in both immediate mode and digest mode. This is useful if you want to keep your own archive of messages (using the digest) but still be able to receive messages as they are posted. To add digest mode, send an email to dramatica-set-digest@bitranch.com

To switch back to immediate mode, send an email to dramatica-set-listonly@bitranch.com

How to leave the list

  1. Send an email to dramatica-leave@bitranch.com
  2. You'll receive a confirmation message. Reply to that message. (Be sure to reply to the confirmation ID and not the owner ID!)
  3. You'll receive a confirmation that you've unsubscribed from the list.

Changing your list options

There are a few other options you can set on your list account. (For now, use dramatica-help@bitranch.com to get a list of those options.)
